Malaysian state fund, 1Malaysia Development, has proposed a settlement with Deutsche Bank AG in a $1.1 billion lawsuit, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing 1MDB lawyer, Lim Chee Wee.
A hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 26, with the Malaysian High Court already informed over the situation, the report said.
According to the report, Malaysia still faces around 51.4 billion ringgit in financial obligations linked to the scandal, with recovery efforts bringing in around 31.3 billion ringgit.
Earlier, JPMorgan Chase & Co. had agreed in 2025 to pay 1.4 billion ringgit in a settlement to 1MDB, the report added.
Deutsche Bank did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
